Symbola | Sacred Geometry Art

Symbola has allowed me to research and develop artwork based on symbols and geometry. The art is mostly digital, using Adobe Illustrator to draw the separate graphic elements, Photoshop to build textures and add styles and After Effects to bring all the components together into a composition. This is where I can develop the image further, with effects and lighting. I then export a frame from the timeline, as a native Photoshop file, which produces the final digital image. I have found this a great way to work and love the results of the finished artwork.

The Halo and Light Series are the categories I have named to represent the works of art that are created.

The Halo Series images are directly linked to the symbols that have been used by many religious and cultural groups and carry so much meaning that constitute the integral part of their reality and belief system. I have aimed to achieve a finish that includes the elements of metals and stone to translate the heavier, earthly existence.

The Light Series images are the geometry of light and sound. The colors transparent, bright and bold. Layered patterns and shapes that come together to attract the viewer to familiar and recognisable symbols.

I see these as symbols that do not belong to any culture, group or country. They go beyond ownership and exist within a cosmic universal language that we have recognised and are attracted to.
